PKO Leasing, a leader in Poland’s leasing and rental market, set out to transform Automarket.pl into a fully scalable and dynamic car marketplace.
Challenge
PKO Leasing, a leader in the leasing and rental market in Poland and a key player in the PKO Bank Polski Group, is at the forefront of innovation in the financial sector. The company is constantly adapting its portfolio to meet the changing needs of its customers, and since 2020 has successfully operated an online platform for selling new and used cars called Automarket.pl. However, PKO Leasing's ambitions reached even further. In 2023, the decision was made to transform Automarket into a full-fledged, multifaceted car marketplace. Our task? Transform the vision into reality, overcoming the barrier of the system's low scalability and streamlining the complex processes of handling dealer offers.
Our mission was to create solutions that would not only serve more dealers and financiers, but also significantly simplify bid management for everyone involved in the process.
Throughout the project, we were close to the client at every stage of the work - from detailed requirements analysis and architecture design, through implementation and development of the visual layer, to business consulting. Such a model of cooperation ensured a full understanding of PKO Leasing's needs and allowed us to implement solutions that perfectly fit the nature of their business.
Solution
In order to meet PKO Leasing's ambitious requirements, we developed the “Offer Factory” - an advanced marketplace application that has become a key component of the new Automarket ecosystem. Offer Factory was built on the Magento 2 engine, with an emphasis on scalability and flexibility. This wasn't just an upgrade - it was the creation of a modern platform from scratch, with an eye on the future and the growth of the brand.
Offer Factory
The system is divided into two main modules: the dealer panel and the offer panel. The dealer panel allows not only adding new partners, but also comprehensive management of users and dealership locations. In the offer panel, dealership employees have the tools to create offers quickly, accurately and flawlessly. Integration with the Eurotax database makes vehicle offer creation intuitive and optimized: the user sees only the models available in a given year, and the system automatically suggests equipment, eliminating errors and speeding up the entire process.
A key achievement was also the implementation of an exclusion mechanism. With it, the system automatically blocks incompatible equipment options, allowing operators to proceed faster and without the risk of confusion. The icing on the cake is the ability to estimate the market value of a vehicle with the help of Eurotax, which facilitates valuation and increases user confidence.
Implemented features, such as “drag and drop” for adding documents and photos, and specialized editing options, take the customer's needs into account. Thoughtful enhancements, such as the sanitization of photos (removing backgrounds or logos) and the ability to lock editing depending on permissions, make this system versatile and highly functional. In addition, for used cars, we have improved the vehicle inspection section, which allows only to publish listings that meet the highest quality standards.
Automarket
At the same time as Ofer Factory, we refreshed Automarket.pl, adapting it to the needs of modern users. The headless architecture makes the platform work instantly, and the advanced CMS based on Magento's Page Builder allows for dynamic content management. Expansion to include a blog module and custom components, designed specifically for this platform, emphasizes the flexibility of our implementation and the ability to create unique solutions.
Infrastructure and security
Working on such an advanced project required an uncompromising approach to security. Due to strict rules that did not allow access to partners' test environments, we developed our own mock-server. This allowed us to simulate all activities, from calculations to booking management, which allowed us to have a flawless integration. We covered the entire system with automated tests to guarantee the highest quality and reliability.
