Challenge

Marie-Stella-Maris aims to make clean water and hygiene accessible to everyone worldwide. They achieve this by donating a fixed percentage of their revenue, generated from the sales of products like natural mineral water, natural body care, and luxury home fragrances, to sustainable clean water projects through their own foundation. Since 2011, this has resulted in a contribution of more than 1.8 million euros, providing tens of thousands of people with access to clean water. However, their existing webshop no longer met the desired image of the brand. Therefore, they approached Strix with the request to develop an e-commerce platform that better reflects the brand's luxurious and modern identity.

Solution

Strix was tasked with developing an e-commerce platform that not only reflects the aesthetic values of Marie-Stella-Maris but also functionally meets their growing ambitions. The existing website was migrated to the scalable and fast Shopify platform. This new platform is fully aligned with the brand's luxurious image and offers seamless integration with their ERP system Itsperfect, both online and in physical stores via Shopify POS. Additionally, there is a secured B2B portal for business customers. Email marketing is handled by Klaviyo, and reviews are collected and shared via Yotpo, further enhancing customer engagement.

Results

The Shopify platform for Marie-Stella-Maris perfectly aligns with the brand's ambitions and reflects the luxury of their physical stores online. The webshop is fast, user-friendly, and contributes to a high conversion rate. The company’s mission is prominently displayed alongside the product range, which further motivates customers to contribute to clean water projects with each purchase. According to Micha Medendrop, CEO of Marie-Stella-Maris, the new product detail page offers smart features such as easily switching between scents and package sizes, and the shopping cart clearly shows how much a customer is contributing to water projects with their purchase.
